Join us at Frogfoot Farm for a BioBlitz in Celebration of Earth Day!

Earth Day is coming up on Tuesday, April 22nd, and to celebrate one of our favorite days of the year, the Marion Institute is thrilled to invite you to our fourth BioBlitz on Sunday, April 27th at Frogfoot Farm!

What is a BioBlitz? It’s like a nature scavenger hunt! You’ll team up with fellow Citizen Scientists (that’s you!) to find and record as many plants, animals, and fungi as possible in one spot — all in one day.

Why conduct a BioBlitz? At Frogfoot Farm, we’re not just growing food — we’re growing a healthier community and planet. Through our Frogfoot Farm – Neighbors Feeding Neighbors program, we take an ecological approach to farming, creating a space that works with nature. That means inviting pollinators, birds, frogs, and all kinds of wildlife to thrive alongside our crops. To track our progress, we host BioBlitzes — and we need your eyes, ears, and curiosity!

When? Sunday, April 27th from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Where do we meet? Box Mill Hall (AD Makepeace),
146 Tihonet Road, Wareham, MA 02571. We’ll kick things off with snacks and a short intro, then head out to Frogfoot Farm for the BioBlitz. We’ll wrap up back at Box Mill Hall to share our discoveries.

What do I need to bring?

  • Attire: Dress for the outdoors (hat, comfortable shoes, sunscreen), water bottle and snacks.
  • APP: Download the iNaturalist app — it’s a free tool that helps you ID and record your nature finds. Super easy and used by nature lovers worldwide.

How do I Register? Please visit our Sign Up Page and add your name to our list! Or, if you prefer, you can email Hannah Traggis, htraggis@marioninstitute.org, for assistance in signing up and to answer any questions you may have about the event!

We look forward to seeing you!
