Limit your use of portable heaters.
They’re great for “spot” heating, but running a 1,500-watt heater 24/7 can be expensive. Instead use a blanket and warm clothing. Also, if you do use a space heater, target it for the rooms that are small. Trying to heat up a large space with a small heater means that it will take longer and tempt you to leave it on for longer periods.
