GROW teams with ProGroup Contracting to bring cheer to Gomes School

ProGroup Contracting has been supporting and collaborating with GROW Education for five years, and GROW was overjoyed when we were asked to assist with one of ProGroup’s other community endeavors.

For the past five years, ProGroup has been spreading holiday cheer to classrooms in New Bedford and surrounding communities. GROW Education helped select Gomes Elementary School as this year’s recipient. Six teachers at Gomes were provided with a wish list of classroom items to choose from – items ranging from books, games, and art supplies to bulletin boards and beanbag chairs.

When ProGroup went to Gomes in December to deliver the items, they also brought holiday gift bags filled with winter clothing, books and toys for more than a hundred first grade and special education students from households living below the poverty line.

“One of our company’s biggest goals is helping out our local communities and giving back,” ProGroup Vice President Courtney Tamulevich said. “We have been working with the Marion Institute for nearly five years helping with their GROW Education program and donating much needed supplies and gifts to local schools. We are excited to continue this positive relationship for many years to come.”

Marion Institute Development Director Robyn Branco represented GROW Education at Gomes when ProGroup distributed the gifts.

“I was honored and proud to be a part of an organization that helps our community in such a meaningful way,” Ms. Branco said. “The students laughed and screamed with joy as they opened their gift bags filled with hats, gloves, books and stuffed animals, and teachers were moved to tears. Thank you to ProGroup from everyone at GROW and Gomes Elementary for your continued generosity and kindness.”
