Southcoast Health President & CEO David O. McCready Joins the Marion Institute Board of Directors
MARION, Mass. — Southcoast Health President & CEO, David O. McCready, recently joined the Marion Institute Board of Directors, a non-profit community organization committed to elevating health, food, and environmental equity across the South Coast region.
“We are thrilled to announce that David McCready has joined the Marion Institute’s Board of Directors. Southcoast Health has always been a wonderful partner, and we hope that through this relationship we will be able to work collaboratively among our communities to address health equity and food justice through root-caused solutions,” said Elizabeth Wiley, Executive Director of The Marion Institute.
Natural partners, the two organizations are deeply committed to improving the overall wellbeing of our community. Southcoast Health is an active member of the Marion Institute’s Southcoast Food Policy Council (SFPC) and serves on the SFPC Community Advisory Board. This coalition of local farms, food pantries, foundations, and social service agencies works together to strengthen our current food system and supports food security for all.

The Marion Institute is celebrating its 30-year anniversary as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose work engages individuals and communities in systems level solutions at the intersection of food, wellness, and the environment.
The Marion Institute manages several programs designed to improve health, food access, community well-being, and environmental wellness. The Southcoast Food Policy Council works to build a healthier community by promoting food security. Grow Education is a farm-to-school initiative that collaborates with Southcoast school districts. Frogfoot Farm – Neighbors Feeding Neighbors focuses on food relief and regional gleaning efforts. The BioMed program enhances the understanding of Biological Medicine for patients, doctors, and healthcare professionals.
