Volunteer With the Marion Institute

Join us in strengthening nutrition security across Southeastern MA. Volunteering with the Marion Institute is a hands-on way to expand access to healthy, local food while supporting regenerative agriculture, resilient ecosystems, community well-being, and the policy change needed to sustain it all. Whether you’re harvesting vegetables, gleaning fresh produce, planting native hedgerows, supporting school gardens, helping at an event, or advocating for legislation that strengthens our regional food system, your time and energy make a real difference for our region.

Register to volunteer at the bottom of this page. Once registered, we’ll email you weekly with the upcoming volunteer schedule.

Ways to Get Involved

🌾 Frogfoot Farm – Neighbors Feeding Neighbors
Help grow and harvest culturally relevant produce for local pantries, support soil health and biodiversity, and assist with on-farm projects.
Volunteer sessions take place Thursdays, typically 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, and run through mid-November.

🌿 Fields to Families – Gleaning Program
Join trained volunteers in rescuing surplus crops from regional farms and delivering them to hunger relief organizations. Gleaners begin with hands-on experience at Frogfoot Farm before joining field harvests across the region.

🍎 Grow Education
Support hands-on learning and school gardens in partnership with local teachers and students. Help foster food literacy and healthy habits in the classroom and beyond.

🥕 Southcoast Food Policy Council
Get involved with community food system advocacy, policy initiatives, and events that shape how food is grown, accessed, and shared in our region.

👐 General Support
From administrative help to event support, there are plenty of ways to lend a hand at the Marion Institute year-round.
