Boogie at the Bog is more than a celebration—it’s the Marion Institute’s signature fundraising event supporting our farm-to-food relief work across Southeastern Massachusetts.

Through Frogfoot Farm – Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, we grow fresh, nutritious food using regenerative farming practices while engaging and training volunteers. Through our sister program, Fields to Families, we partner with local farmers and volunteers to glean surplus crops that might otherwise go to waste and redirect them to neighbors in need.

Together, these programs are increasing access to fresh, locally grown produce while strengthening our local food system.

Why It Matters

Food insecurity has nearly doubled since 2019, now affecting 37% of Massachusetts households. Across the Commonwealth, one in three people experiences food insecurity—and in Bristol County, that number rises to one in two.

In the first full year of our combined farm-to-food relief efforts, 244 volunteers helped grow, glean, harvest, and distribute more than 174,000 servings of fresh produce to local food pantries. When our pantry partners tell us they wouldn’t have had fresh produce to offer families without this work, we’re reminded just how meaningful this work truly is.

Frogfoot Farm is a unique partnership between the Marion Institute and A.D. Makepeace Company, which generously provides the land through a low-cost lease while the Marion Institute raises the funds needed to build, operate, and sustain the farm.
