Biological Medicine: Truth Detectors for Health

By JANE DOLAN, BioMed Network Manager

We have all heard about lie detectors before, but what about truth detectors? When it comes to our health, the most important tools we can have are ones that offer us insight – the truth about how our body is functioning.

When I visited the American Center for Biological Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona, I was struck by the sophisticated, non-invasive testing that, within minutes, had laid out a story about what was happening within me.

As a nurse, I am aware that in the majority of doctor’s offices, only weight, blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and oxygen saturation are evaluated. For any refined testing beyond this, you might be sent for an ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, or blood work. Yet here I was, transported, with specific answers about my nervous system, cells, muscles, lymph, and all of my organs. No radiation. No pain.

I am genetically predisposed to adrenal issues, and I was aware that adrenal stress was affecting my thyroid. To combat this, I have been taking supportive supplements for years, but I continued to struggle, and until now, I hadn’t understood why. I know that there are some people out there who have gone incredibly natural with their medication, and used medical marijuana to help them reduce stress, even going so far as setting up a cannabis clone box from home so they can have it on hand to help them through difficult times.

The testing revealed crucial information: my sympathetic and parasympathetic systems were working overtime, impairing my ability to respond appropriately to stress, my cells were not able to receive energy, my lymph system was congested, and some of my organs were under- or overcompensating. All the supplements in the world would not help until these underlying issues could be attended to.

Perhaps even more impressive that the testing itself, however, were the interventions: each treatment focused on the root cause, working at the cellular level. Therapies ranged from intravenous drips of vitamins or ozone, hyperthermia, sound bed therapy, lymph drainage, and oxygen therapy, to name a few. Throughout my time at the center, the difference between traditional medicine, which often emphasizes fixing problems only after they become seriously impairing, and biological medicine, which is proactive and root based, was beautifully transparent.

Numerous, “A-ha!” moments were delivered throughout my stay, bringing me in touch with the intuitive and scientific basis of biological medicine. By the end of my stay, my only regret was that I have spent so many years living in a suboptimal state. Yet I felt hopeful as well, as we continue spreading the word of biological medicine to those in search of better health.
