Formally known as the Southeastern MA Food Security Network, the Marion Institute Southcoast Food Policy Council’s mission is to connect, convene, and advocate for local food producers, consumers, and community leaders who seek policy and systems that strengthen our regional food system, improve community health, and eliminate food insecurity.

The Cooks for Community program meals are offered through the Marion Institute’s Southcoast Food Policy Council. The initiative will run five days a week through June 5, providing a total of 2,180 hot meals to 109 people.

Wareham Week 5/5/20 – “Cooks for Community” to feed more people for more weeks
Thanks to additional funding, more people are receiving healthy meals each day, and the program will last for at least six weeks. The Institute is currently working on securing funding to pay for a seventh week of meals.
Sippican Week 4/14/20 – The Marion Institute tackles hunger
With Marion set on its own food program thanks to an effort by the town and school district, The Marion Institute joined an effort to fight food insecurity in Wareham.
