The Institute for Human & Planetary Flourishing

The Institute for Human & Planetary Flourishing encourage the expansion of knowledge and exploration of ideas and practices for whole body and whole planet health, striving to meet the needs and interests of college students, faculty and the community at large.

The work of the Institute for Human & Planetary Flourishing is based in the exploration of best practices for human and planetary wellness, including but not limited to two primary areas: holistic wellness, including whole food nutrition and self-care strategies, and sustainable, restorative food and farming.

ihpf_logo_cmykCurrently working in concert with the Endicott College community in Beverly, Massachusetts, the IHPF aims to expand to college communities around the country. Targeted towards both staff and students, the IHPF cultivates a transdisciplinary exchange which serves to broaden experiences and promote ideas toward sustainable enterprises, grounded in the belief that our footprint on this earth is important, and fostered by exploration of ways to respect and act in accordance with the symbiotic nature of a healthy body and a flourishing planet.

Using nutrition as a foundation, the IHPF studies what we put into our bodies and how that may affect humanity and the earth. Through simple nutrition basics, the organization helps students and faculty alike source real foods, and serves as a resource and support for those who wish to dive deeper into the subject through hands on experience and research in restorative and regenerative practices. Through the exploration of farming practices, the IHPF examines the local and global impact of farming, both large and small scale. By exploring variations for global food production and discuss the pros and cons, the IHPF encourages students to think in solution-oriented avenues.

The IHPF evaluates stress, its physical manifestations, and strategies for navigating and managing stressful times and situations. Through alternative therapies not commonly explored in academic settings, the organization exposes students to many options, including Healing Touch, TRE, Heartfulness Meditation, Zero Balancing, Aesthetic Awareness.

As a resource for the Endicott Community, the IHPF is available to speak or present at events, in classes, and host seminars, clinics and film viewing events. The organization aims to provide further enrichment to college programs and looks forward to future collaborations.
