Managing Soil Microbiology for Carbon Sequestration

Dr. David Johnson, Molecular Biologist, of the Institute of Sustainable Agricultural Research, New Mexico State University will be giving a free presentation on Wednesday (Nov. 15) at 2:00 pm at BCC. This talk is open to the general public.
Dr. Johnson’s research has developed technologies and recommendations about managing compost and soil microbiology for improved soil fertility plus significant increases in carbon sequestration. This clearly has major importance for agricultural productivity as well as addressing agricultural impacts on climate change.

In addition, Dr. Johnson will be a keynote speaker at the Biodiversity 4 Climate Conference on Nov. 18-19 in Cambridge, MA. and he will also be speaking to several classes on campus on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
