Join the Marion Institute and the BioMed Center New England for our Monthly BioMed Learning Events.
Since 1997, the Marion Institute’s BioMed Program has been working to advance the understanding and acceptance of biological medicine, an alternative perspective on health care that focuses on fostering wellness rather than suppressing symptoms. This approach uses a wide variety of innovative techniques to restore the body’s immune system, cultivating full health in body, mind, and spirit.
We have partnered with the BioMed Center New England in Providence, RI to host monthly learning events that discuss relevant topics through the lens of biological medicine. Our goal is to present health from a different perspective by educating and empowering individuals to take a closer look and a new approach to their health and well being.
SEATS ARE LIMITED. Pre-registration is encouraged. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will benefit the Mary Shands Scholarship Fund.
March 26 | 5:30 – 7:00 pm | “Knowledge for Healing”
Screening and discussion with Gabe Golden, Director, Lighting the Path, and Hendrika “Hennie” Fitzpatrick, MD, AFMCP, BioMed Center New England
Inspired by his 25-year challenge with rheumatoid arthritis, Gabe Golden directed “Lighting The Path” a documentary on alternative medicine. The film chronicles the stories of those who were determined to find solutions and the physicians and scientists who have helped light the path along the journey.
In addition to the full length film (which is being shown for free in New Bedford, MA the previous evening – March 25- at the Marion Institute Winter Film Series), Gabe created 5 extended episodes that delve into specific topics in greater depth.
We will be screening Episode 2: Biological Medicine, Frequency and Light
After the 20 minute piece, Gabe will be joined by Dr. Hennie Fitzpatrick of the BioMed Center New England. They will discuss biological medicine in greater detail – from both the patient and the practitioner perspective – and answer questions from the audience. There will be time included for tours of the facility, as well as networking and refreshments.
SPACE IS LIMITED. There are only 30 seats available for this FREE event.
About Gabe Golden, Director of Lighting the Path
Gabe’s training in film production began at the Scottsdale Film School’s production program where he wrote, directed, and acted in various short films while studying broadcasting, screenwriting, and theater. In 2000 he moved to Los Angeles and worked on numerous feature films, gathering additional experience in all aspects of production. He has authored six screenplays and has found creating documentary films to be an essential form of in-depth journalism necessary to communicate all aspects of a subject.
Inspired by his 25 year challenge with rheumatoid arthritis, Gabe directed “Lighting The Path” a documentary on alternative medicine and has co-written and produced the award winning “Rangeland” series as well as the “Nevada Mining” series for Nevada PBS. Gabe is also consistently producing content for The Savory Institute promoting grassland and soil restoration across the globe as well as for The American Center for Biological Medicine, a world renowned healing center.
About Hendrika “Hennie” Fitzpatrick, MD, AFMCP, The BioMed Center New England
Dr. Hennie comes from a large family of allopathic physicians and after receiving her undergrad degree in Medical Ethics from Cornell University, she pursued her M.D. from George Washington School of Medicine. Her interest in family dynamics drew her into a newly formed residency in Family Medicine at the University of New Mexico. Following that, she joined the National Health Service Corps for eight years delivering care to medically underserved people. Subsequent involvement in community health programs, particularly with Native Americans, gave her the opportunity to develop clinics and programs that met people where they were, with a sensitivity for honoring individual needs, cultural differences and values. It also continued her feeling that the healing part of medicine was missing. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.
