Transport

Elm St Parking Garage
40 Elm St.
New Bedford, MA 02740

Zeiterion Theatre
684 Purchase St.
New Bedford, MA 02740

We encourage all attendees to use the most sustainable means of transportation possible to and from the conference. We wholeheartedly support carpooling, public transportation, biking, or walking. We have provided some useful information to help you reach the City of New Bedford in the most sustainable manner possible, more will be posted as it becomes available.

For those of you who will be driving to the conference, we would like to encourage you to do your best to carpool with other conference attendees.

Parking will be FREE at the Elm St Parking Garage, click here for directions to it. You will need a parking pass for free parking which you can download below or can be picked up at the Marion Institute booth at the Zeiterion Theatre during the conference.  If you park on the street on Friday and do not feed the meter appropriately, you will be ticketed.  Parking on the street is free on Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday morning parking may be a bit difficult. We recommend that you arrive early and use the parking garage if possible. Saturday and Sunday parking should not be a problem throughout the Downtown.

Carpooling
We would love to see full cars at this year’s conference. Please visit GoLoco.com to join the conference group and share rides with fellow attendees.

GoLoco is an easy way to share trips with your friends -- and friends of friends. We use a system of alerts to notify you whenever your friends or interest groups are going places you want to go. Your cars, your friends, your trips, your expenses -- GoLoco puts them all together for a seamless way to share travel and expenses.

Bus
We fully support the use of Public Transportation to reach this years conference in New Bedford, MA. The best way to reach the conference in Downtown New Bedford, MA is by bus, which will take you to the Downtown New Bedford station only blocks away from the conference. Please visit the links below to view bus schedule information.

Car Service
We have teamed up with Green Shuttle of Cape Cod this year, for another transportation option for those of you who might need a ride.

Green Shuttle of Cape Cod is very proud to be the Cape & Islands first all-green private livery / transportation service. All of their vehicles have hybrid or bio-diesel technology and all of their hybrids meet the very rigorous California "partial
zero emission" standards. They offer an environmentally friendly alternative for serving your transportation needs on, to and from Cape Cod.

Biking and Walking
Both are great for us and the planet, unfortunately Downtown New Bedford is not the easiest place to access by either. Please visit Google Maps and their new walking maps, and be safe at all times, we will have plenty of refreshments for weary travelers.
