What is Connecting for Change?
More than just a conference, Connecting for Change (CFC) presented by the Marion Institute is an annual solutions based gathering that brings together a diverse audience to create deep and positive change in their communities. I offers a variety of keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, activities, sustainable vendors, resource fairs, and musical performers all in one location. Connecting for Change will take place on October 23-24, 2015 and will attract over 3,000 people from over twenty states to beautiful Downtown New Bedford, MA. The conference features dozens of leading innovators and countless activities that will cover a range of topics, including food and farming, policy, innovative tech and design, health and healing, green business, indigenous knowledge, environmental and social justice, women and youth empowerment, impact investing, spirituality and sustainability.
Who is CFC?
The Marion Institute is the host and producer of the Connecting for Change. The conference is a great complement to the many other programs that we sponsor at the Marion Institute and is in line with our primary goal, to create deep and positive change. That is why the last decade we have brought the ideas of Bioneers to New England.
Connecting for Change is a Bioneers Resilient Communities Network Event. We are one of many sites around the US that connects to Bioneers through regional events. Many people know Connecting for Change as "Bioneers by the Bay." We have become so well-recognized that people began calling us just "Connecting for Change" and in 2010, we ran with it. We still hold closely to the Bioneer spirit, and remaining part of the network.
The Bioneers Conference is a leading-edge forum where you can see tomorrow today: a future environment of hope. Social and scientific innovators focus on breakthrough solutions inspired by nature and human ingenuity. These visionaries are already creating the healthy, diverse, equitable and beautiful world we want to live in—our legacy for future generations and the web of life on which our lives depend. Bioneers fosters connection, cross-pollination and collaboration by bringing together diverse people and projects. They link strategic networks at the local, regional, national and international levels, much like the Marion Institute, which is why we have a natural partnership.
