About our living arts tours
Our Program offers you the opportunity to come see our work first hand in a way that is culturally sensitive, authentic and that benefits the artists as well as the arts as a whole in Cambodia. Offering these hands on experiences to you plays an important role in our mission to revitalize Khmer performing arts and make them the national and international signature of the country. Each opportunity that we offer creates paying jobs for our artists that help them support their families. In addition to directly supporting the artists a small portion of fees help us cover our costs, supporting the work that we do. Every dollar you spend goes either directly to the artists or to support our mission.
VISIT OUR CLASSES
Our classes are the heart and soul of our work. Our master artists, all of whom were able one way or another to survive the Khmer Rouge genocide, hold thousands of years of traditional knowledge in their hands, bodies and voices. They are living cultural treasures. During each class, these masters orally transfer their knowledge and skills to a younger generation of students.
During a class visit one of our Cultural Ambassadors, usually a CLA student who is part of the class, will meet you and take you to visit their class. You will be able to watch the students perform their art form and see the magic of learning take place. At the end of the class you will be able to ask questions of the students and the Master artists. They will also have the chance to ask questions about you and your home country. After the class you may have the opportunity to give an instrument or dance move a try for yourself.

Creating a SUstainable model for the Arts
As Khmer performing arts gain recognition and strength we are going beyond just preserving these art forms to ensuring that they can sustain themselves. We know that for these arts to truly thrive, they need to play a viable role in the economy. Our Cultural Tourism Program is part of a bigger initiative where we are working to nurture a thriving arts sector. To us, a sustainable model is one where artists can ear
n a competitive income from their work. And this means creating value and demand for the Khmer Performing arts both inside and outside Cambodia.
