Music notation workshops

For three days in early July 2012, Cambodian Living Arts (CLA) hosted acclaimed jazzman Jesse Neuman and dancer Ann Robideaux at Wat Bo,Siem Reap. Jesse and Ann, visiting artists from New York City, ran workshops with some of CLA’s musicians and the members of Krom Selapak Akpiwad (Artistic Development Club) on western music notation and western ballet. The students learned a lot of new skills and ideas, and by the final workshop were writing their own compositions, which they performed on the instruments of the Pin Peat ensemble.
