Advocacy
Our advocacy programs are centered on building strong partnerships and then working together to influence the “climate” of Cambodia to create the necessary political, economic and social environment for the arts and the people of Cambodia to thrive. We see this as a key balance to our principally grassroots approach to economic and artist development.
ARTS ALLIANCE
The Arts Alliance is a new initiative that will bring together artists and arts organizations to share resources, best practices and good governance expertise, and to use their collective power to strengthen the arts sector. UNESCO has expressed interest in supporting the Arts Alliance, and a colleague from the Cambodian Ministry of Culture has offered to observe meetings. CLA has also been invited by UNESCO to represent the arts community in building Cambodia’s first national cultural policy. We see this Arts Alliance as essential to achieving our mission of facilitating the transformation of Cambodia through the arts. Major examples of our focus on collaboration can be seen in the Cambodian Youth Arts Festival, as well as in the upcoming Seasons of Cambodia. Each festival draws in artists from all different organizations and classes, demonstrating the arts in all of their forms.
